July 10th, 2026 Market Report

Asparagus: Alert

Markets are up, as Mexico becomes primary supplier. Peruvian supplies remained limited due to lower yields and increased demand.  Hot weather and poor growing conditions have impacted production and quality. Domestic Supply is coming to an end, which will gradually strengthen the market. Quality is fair.

Berries: Alert

• Blackberry markets are up. Blackberries will remain in very short supply as California production continues to progress slowly. Harvests from Oregon and Washington are not expected until late July. Quality is fair to good.
• Blueberry The Pacific Northwest harvest is gaining momentum after a slow start caused by recent rainfall. Supply from New Jersey remains limited, while Michigan began harvesting last week. However, unfavorable weather conditions have negatively impacted yields and berry quality. Overall, market prices continue to trend lower.
• Raspberry markets are up. Raspberries will remain in very short supply as late-season Central Mexico production transitions to new growing regions. California harvests are progressing slowly due to cooler temperatures, while Baja production is expected to increase in late July, helping to improve overall availability. Quality is fair to good.
• Strawberry markets are steady. Supplies remain steady as growers continue to see harvest volumes increase with more moderate daytime temperatures across California. Santa Maria is harvesting light volumes of new-crop strawberries, with production expected to build over the coming weeks. Quality is fair to good.

Broccoli:

Markets are steady. Broccoli supplies are slightly tighter heading into the weekend. There is an AOG trigger on all value-added broccoli. Quality is good.  

Brussel Sprouts:

Markets are steady. Brussels sprout supplies are slightly limited, though overall quality remains good.

Cabbage:

• Green Cartons: Markets are steady. Quality is good.
• Red Cartons: Markets are steady. Quality is good.
• Bagged Cabbage: Markets are steady.  Quality is good.

Carrots:

• Cello markets are steady. Quality is good.
• Loose Markets are steady out of Mexico and California. Quality is good.
• Value-add Carrots markets are steady. Quality is good.

Cauliflower:

Markets are coming off, but supplies remain slightly tight. There is an AOG trigger on all value-added cauliflower. Quality is good.

Celery:

Markets are steady for next week, but expected to strengthen. Quality is good.

Citrus:

• Lemon: Markets are coming off. District Two (Ventura County/Oxnard region) is in full production and supplying the majority of fruit. Offshore Import lemons have started with decent supplies. Quality is good.
• Limes: Markets are fairly steady with ample supply on small sizes while larger fruit is coming at a higher cost. Quality challenges continue to impact arrivals, as ongoing rainfall across growing regions has led to increased incidences of oil spotting and skin breakdown, resulting in higher grade-out rates. Quality is good with only minor oil spots and stylar.
• Orange: Markets are coming off. California Valencia oranges are heavily weighted toward larger sizes, with 56ct and 72ct fruit most available. Smaller sizes remain extremely limited and will require flexibility, with substitutions to larger sizes likely to maintain coverage. Import Chilian and South African fruit has started. We will see 105ct 15kg fruit as a sub for 113ct in the mix. Quality is good.

Cucumbers:

• Cucumber Markets are steady. Eastern supply remains constrained following the conclusion of South Florida production, while Georgia volumes are limited due to recent weather conditions. North Carolina production is slowing.  New jersey has started harvesting, though quality has been impacted by Weather. Overall product quality remains fair to good.
• Cello Cucumber markets are coming off. Quality is good.

Eggplant:

Markets are up. Georgias season is ending, adding pressure to pricing. markets are expected to stay elevated until east coast harvest improves. Overall quality remains good.

Grapes:

Markets are coming down. The grape market has adjusted to promotable levels, with excellent supplies of red grapes and good availability on greens. Quality is good.

Green Onions:

Markets are steady. Quality is good.

Herbs:

• Basil: Quality is fair.

Lettuce Iceberg:

Markets are coming off. Production remains strong across both northern and southern regions. Quality is good.  

Lettuce Leaf:

• Romaine markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality isgood.  
• Romaine Heart markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality is good.
• Green Leaf markets are steady. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality is good.  
• Red Leaf markets are steady. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality is good.  

Lettuce Tender Leaf:

Arcadian, Arugula, Cilantro, Parsley, Spring Mix, and Spinach. Tender leaf items are steady. Quality is good.

Melons: Alert

• Cantaloupes: Offshore cantaloupes are finished for the season, with domestic melons now the primary supply. However, production is currently limited due to whitefly pressure in the California desert, which forced an early shutdown. The Central California growing region was not yet ready to bridge the gap, creating a temporary shortage in cantaloupes. Contracts remain priority but are being prorated with size substitutions. This supply gap is expected to continue through the week of 7/6. Quality is good.
• Honeydews: Offshore and Mexican honeydews are finished for the season, leaving domestic production as the primary supply source. California Desert growers were impacted by white fly, causing an earlier-than-expected shutdown and a temporary supply gap before Central California was ready. Contracts remain a priority but are being prorated, with sizing substitutions likely. Tight supplies are expected through the week of 7/6.Quality is good.

Onions: Alert

• Red Onion: Market is exceptionally tight due to a planting gap, resulting in limited supplies until Washington begins harvesting around July 20. Transportation availability continues to be a significant factor influencing market activity and pricing trends. Overall product quality remains strong across all growing regions. Freight is a key driver of pricing.
• Yellow Onions: Markets are on the rise. Supply is tight due to a planting gap. New Mexico and Central California have emerged as the primary shipping regions for the balance of the summer season. Overall product quality remains strong across all growing regions.Freight is a key driver of pricing.

Peppers: Alert

• Green Pepper: Markets are down slightly. Production in the Carolinas is improving but remain Weather dependent due to extreme heat. Market is expected to remain tight until production increases in the Carolinas.
• Red Pepper markets are steady. Quality is good.

Pineapples:

Markets are steady. Quality is good.

Potatoes:

Markets are trending upward as pricing continues to increase on count cartons. As the crop nears its end, supplies of #1 cartons are becoming more limited, resulting in higher FOB pricing. Larger-size potatoes are also tightening in availability. Transportation costs continue to contribute to overall market strength. Quality remains strong.

Squash:

Markets are Steady. North Carolina and New Jersey are providing strong volume and good quality, adding supply to the market. Overall quality remains good

Tomatoes:

Rounds and Roma supplies are improving as Eastern production moves north. California production remains strong with good quality. Overall availability is increasing, with grape tomatoes still limited.
