Asparagus: Alert

Markets are up, as Mexico becomes primary supplier. Peruvian supplies remained limited due to lower yields and increased demand.  Hot weather and poor growing conditions have impacted production and quality. Domestic Supply is coming to an end, which will gradually strengthen the market. Quality is fair.

Berries: Alert

Blackberry markets are steady, but tight. Blackberries will remain in very short supply as late-season CMEX fruit continues to arrive below acceptable quality standards after crossing into the U.S. California production is running behind schedule due to persistent cold weather, while Oregon and Washington supplies are not expected to become available until late July. Quality is fair to good.
Blueberry markets are coming down, but supplies remain tight. The Pacific Northwest season has begun on schedule; however, multiple rain events across the growing regions have disrupted harvesting, resulting in lighter-than-expected volumes. Michigan is also off to a slow start due to unfavorable weather conditions. Supplies are expected to remain limited until production in both regions ramps up following the Fourth of July holiday. New Jersey has a split market between fair quality berries and good quality berries.
Raspberry markets are up. Raspberries will remain in very short supply as late-season CMEX fruit continues to arrive below acceptable quality standards after crossing into the U.S. California production is running behind schedule due to persistent cold weather, while Baja production is expected to become more readily available in late July. Quality is fair to good.
Strawberry markets are up. Supplies are lighter than expected as California growers continue to see harvest projections decline due to persistent cool daytime temperatures. Santa Maria is expected to begin harvesting new-crop fruit in the weeks following the Fourth of July holiday. Market conditions remain firm, with pricing slightly elevated.Quality is fair to good.

Broccoli:

Markets are up. Broccoli supplies are slightly tighter heading into the weekend. Market conditions are expected to strengthen, with prices trending higher next week. There is an AOG trigger on all value-added broccoli. Quality is good.  

Brussel Sprouts:

Markets are up. Brussels sprout supplies are slightly limited, though overall quality remains good.

Cabbage:

Green Cartons: Markets are steady. Quality is good.
Red Cartons: Markets are steady. Quality is good.
Bagged Cabbage: Markets are steady.  Quality is good.

Carrots:

Cello markets are down. Quality is good.
Loose Markets are steady out of Mexico and California. Quality is good.
Value-add Carrots markets are steady. Quality is good.

Cauliflower:

Markets are up. The cauliflower market is beginning to strengthen, with a slight gap in supplies heading into the weekend. There is an AOG trigger on all value-added cauliflower. Quality isgood.

Celery:

Markets are steady. Quality is good.

Citrus:

Lemon: Markets are coming off. District Two (Ventura County/Oxnard region) is in full production and supplying the majority of fruit. Offshore Import lemons have just started in a small way. Quality is good.
Limes: Markets are fairly steady with supplies from Mexico remaining heavily concentrated in the 200ct size, with a modest increase in availability of 175ct fruit. Quality challenges continue to impact arrivals, as ongoing rainfall across growing regions has led to increased incidences of oil spotting and skin breakdown on inbound fruit, resulting in higher grade-out rates. Quality is good with only minor oil spots and stylar.
Orange: Markets are coming off. The California Valencia orange crop is heavily skewed toward larger sizes, with production peaking on 56ct and 72ct fruit. Small sizes (113ct and 138ct) are very limited and expected to remain tight through the rest of the season. Offshore Import oranges have started in a small way. Quality is good.

Cucumbers:

Cucumber Markets are steady. Eastern supply remains constrained following the conclusion of South Florida production, while Georgia volumes are limited due to recent weather conditions. North Carolina production is slowing.  New jersey has started harvesting, though quality has been impacted by Weather. Overall product quality remains fair to good.
Cello Cucumber markets are up. Supplies are slightly limited. Quality is good.

Eggplant:

Markets are up. Georgias season is ending, adding pressure to pricing. markets are expected to stay elevated into early July. Overall quality remains good.

Grapes:

Markets are coming down. The grape deal has returned to California for the season. Red grapes are in good supply, and the market is adjusting to increasing volume. Green grapes are about a week behind reds but are following a similar trend. Prices are expected to ease as both supply and quality improve over the next few weeks. Quality is good.

Green Onions:

Markets are steady. Quality is good.

Herbs:

Basil: Quality is fair.

Lettuce Iceberg:

Markets are coming off. Supplies are significantly improved in both the Salinas Valley and Southern California. Weights are averaging 40–44 pounds. There is an AOG trigger on all Lettuce value-added products. Quality is fair to good.  

Lettuce Leaf:

Romaine markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. There is an AOG trigger on all Romaine value-added products. Quality is fair to good.  
Romaine Heart markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality is fair to good.
Green Leaf markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality isfair to good.  
Red Leaf markets are coming off. Minimal fringe and tip burn being reported. Quality isfair to good.  

Lettuce Tender Leaf:

Arcadian, Arugula, Cilantro, Parsley, Spring Mix, and Spinach. Tender leaf items are steady. Quality is good.

Melons: Alert

Cantaloupes: Offshore cantaloupes are finished for the season, with domestic melons now the primary supply. However, production is currently limited due to whitefly pressure in the California desert, which forced an early shutdown. The Central California growing region was not yet ready to bridge the gap, creating a temporary shortage in cantaloupes. Contracts remain priority but are being prorated with size substitutions. This supply gap is expected to continue through the week of 7/6. Quality is good.
Honeydews: Offshore honeydews are finished for the season, with domestic supplies now primary but limited due to whitefly issues in the California desert. Central California was not ready to cover the gap, and Mexican supplies are also finished, further tightening availability. Contracts remain priority but are being prorated with size substitutions. The shortage is expected through the week of 7/6. Quality is good.

Onions: Alert

Red Onion: Market is exceptionally tight due to a planting gap, resulting in limited supplies until Washington begins harvesting around July 20. Transportation availability continues to be a significant factor influencing market activity and pricing trends. Overall product quality remains strong across all growing regions. Freight is a key driver of pricing.
Yellow Onions: Markets are on the rise. Starting to get tight due to a planting gap. New Mexico and Central California have emerged as the primary shipping regions for the balance of the summer season. Overall product quality remains strong across all growing regions. Freight is a key driver of pricing.

Peppers: Alert

Green Pepper: Markets are up with peppers transitioning from Georgia to North Carolina.  Production in the Carolinas is improving but remain Weather dependent sue to extreme heat. Market is expected to remain tight until production increases in the Carolinas.
Red Pepper markets are steady. Quality is good.

Pineapples:

Markets are steady. Quality is good.

Potatoes:

Markets are trending upward as pricing continues to increase on count cartons. As the crop nears its end, supplies of #1 cartons are becoming more limited, resulting in higher FOB pricing. Larger-size potatoes are also tightening in availability. Transportation costs continue to contribute to overall market strength. Quality remains strong.

Squash:

Markets are Steady. North Carolina and New Jersey are providing strong volume and good quality, adding supply to the market. Overall quality remains good

Tomatoes:

Roma, round, and grape tomato supplies are in seasonal transition. The East is relying on limited South Carolina production until Virginia harvest begins ramping up in early July. Western supplies are gradually improving as California increases production and Mexico adds volume from newer plantings. Roma and grape tomatoes remain somewhat tight, while round tomatoes are more stable. Overall availability is expected to steadily improve through July as additional regions come online.
