Limes Costs are still elevated in Mexico. Low demand trends in the U.S. have slowed down pricing escalation. The new production cycle has fully transitioned in most operations. Overall quality and shelf life has improved, including higher pack-out yields on U.S. #1-grade fruit. As overall coloring on the fruit has darkened, blanching will become more noticeable; please note the difference between blanching and yellowing, as blanching is a quality defect and yellowing is a conditional defect. Supply is forecasted to be tight throughout March and potentially into the first few weeks of April. Large fruit will be scarce, with insufficient supply on 110’s & 150’s. Consider altering your spec to complement crop trends and ensure supply. These trends align with our seasonal timeline.
